Films Reviewed: Four Brothers and March of the Penguins

Commentary: Movies for the Birds

Featurette: More Behind the scenes of The Island

Regarding Four Brothers:

Matt: John Singleton really needs to start writing the movies he directs again.  While this revenge film isn't boring, it is pretty stupid.  Andre Benjamin (from OutKast) shines among the ensemble.  Two and a half stars.

Aron: This film has too much exposition for a standard revenge flick.  Despite a fine Mark Whalberg performance, the film really follows the standard revenge plot and arrives at an inevitable conclusion.  Two and a half stars.

Average Rating: **1/2 (out of ****)

Regarding March of the Penguins:

Aron: Who knew a documentary about the mating cycle of emperor penguins could be so wonderful?  Morgan Freeman narrates a timeless tale about the penguin's yearly trek in Antarctica to find that special mate.  Very cool stuff!  Four stars.

Matt: The film is cool, indeed.  Probably releasing this film during the summer was a stroke of genius given the weather outside.  But regardless, the filmmakers did a fantastic job showing us this circle of life.  Four stars from me as well.

Average Rating: **** (out of ****)

Commentary:  Aron and Matt took a look at some of their favorite movie birds, including the title characters of The Birds.  Lots of flying, too.

Featurette: More Behind the scenes of The Island, which the producers are blaming the actors for its box office failure
